Database type – combo box lists SQLServer 2005 (default), and SQLServer Express – Name – name for the database- No spaces, numbers, or special characters are allowed. By default, this field is left BLANK – Database Server – displays ‘localhost’ by default. No spaces or extended characters allowed, but allows ‘\sqlexpress’ for SQL Express edition -Enable Security on my database (disabled) – Set my database security settings later- default selection, but no functionality at present -‘Test the connection to my database’ button hits the db server, and updates the connection status with a suitable icon. This feature uses the connection monitor component. – Connection status – success / failure / default icons.
